The Process of making Leather Diamonds

Our leather diamonds are handcrafted in small-scale production, emphasizing attention to detail and sustainability. The journey begins with designing and prototyping the earrings in wood. Once we achieve the perfect shape and dimensions, we transfer the design to our 3D printer.

We use PLA mixed with wood fibers for 3D-printing the earring components. PLA, or PolyLactic Acid, is a biodegradable bioplastic made from renewable resources like sugar beets, wheat, or corn. This environmentally conscious alternative to traditional plastic filament aligns with our commitment to eco-friendly luxury.

Next, the diamond parts are sanded and refined before being covered with a thin layer of naturally tanned reindeer leather. This leather is incredibly moldable, allowing us to soak it in water and shape it around the 3D mold. The leather is then adhered with eco-friendly glue. After drying, the leather diamonds are cut, burnished, and polished to perfection. Finally, we attach the silver details, and the earring is ready to party!
